English Toffee Scones

Perfect for Holiday Breakfasts & Brunches!

Indulge in the perfect balance of buttery richness and sweet toffee crunch with these English Toffee Scones, featuring Eventful Sweets English Toffee pieces. Whether you're an experienced baker or new to scone-making, this easy-to-follow recipe yields golden, flaky scones every time. Serve with clotted cream and strawberry jam for a taste of tradition!

Ingredients:

  • 2 cup flour
  • ⅓ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • 1½ tsp baking powder
  • 6 tbsp cold butter cut into pieces
  • 1 oz milk
  • 3 oz sour cream
  • 1 egg or egg replacement
  • 1 tsp vanilla

Directions:

- Preheat your oven to 425°

- In a food processor, add flour, sugar, baking soda and baking powder. Mix to incorporate the ingredients. 

- In a small bowl, mix sour cream and milk till well incorporated.

- In another small bowl, mix the sour cream milk mixture, egg, and vanilla. Set aside.

- Cut your cold butter into pieces and place into the food processor with the dry ingredients. Mix until the mixture resembles small crumbles that are pea sized.

- Pour in the wet ingredients (milk, egg and vanilla mixture). Mix until the dough resembles large crumbs.

- Measure out ¾ cup of Eventful Sweets English Toffee Straw Size and mix either by hand or in the food processor. Make sure not to overmix the dough.

- Flour your countertop before placing the dough. Knead until completely incorporated.

- Using your hands or a rolling pin, form a large rectangle. Sprinkle the top with flour and cut the dough rectangle in half.

- Cut the two rectangles into triangles.

- Place the triangles on a prepared baking sheet lined with either parchment or tin foil.

- Bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown.

- Let cool on baking sheet for 10 minutes. Remove to rack to finish cooling.

  • Prepare your scones a day early and keep frozen in your freezer!
